Charles Andresen was trained in the realist tradition but now practices biomorphic abstraction. He is most known for his "throw paintings" – canvases filled with the boundless texture and rich color of flung acrylic paint. A bit of a city legend, the artist has spent over twenty-five years working at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
